David Glen

Group Managing Director

David established the Banktech Group in 1991 and subsequently founded EFTEX in 2000

Ian Sanford

General Manager

Ian joined us in 2021 as General Manager. He has considerable payments, cards and ATM issuing and acquiring experience, having previously held senior roles at Westpac, American Express, Woolworths Group, Cuscal, Prosegur and Diebold.

Jason Krebs

Head of Payments Systems and Services

Jason joined us in 2023 as EFTEX’s Head of Payments Systems and Services, responsible for all certification, switching, processing and acquiring operations. He has considerable payments experience, both business and technical, having held a variety of roles at Westpac, NPP Australia, Macquarie Bank and IR Prognosis.

Nicki Fortey

Senior Client Account Manager

Nicki has been with us since 2009 and has performed a variety of roles. Nicki was appointed Client Account Manager in 2014 and promoted to Senior Client Account Manager in 2022. Prior to EFTEX, Nicki spent several years with Banktech Australia.

Oliver Hong

Senior Business Development Manager

Oliver joined us in August 2022. He has expansive Business Development, Relationship Management and Issuing, Acquiring, Merchant and Scheme Payments experience gained through hands-on roles with UnionPay and Woolworths management.

Loo Tse Lim

Senior Manager, Capabilities and Service Delivery Performance

Our newest team member, Loo Tse joined us in March 2023. She has 20+ years of card payments and product delivery experience. Holding several key roles in financial services organisations including UnionPay International and DBS.

Joshua Ryan

Senior Card Schemes Manager

Josh joined EFTEX in 2024 as Senior Manager of Card Schemes. Josh has extensive compliance, product and advisory experience spanning twenty-five years in financial services with a focus on payments gained through roles with major financial institutions and payments companies.

Darren O’Connell

Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager

Darren joined us in 2021. He has 16 years of Governance, Risk and Compliance experience gained from a variety of public and private sectors, including several roles in financial services, including FleetPartners and AMP.

Deepa Balakrishnan

Settlements Operations Manager

Deepa joined EFTEX in 2018 as Settlement/Disputes Operations Manager . She has 6 years of reconciliation and cardholder disputes experience in credit card operations in banking sector overseas.

Bindu Viswanath

Senior Project Manager

Bindu joined EFTEX in October 2023. She has 17+ years of experience in Banking and Financial Domain. She is responsible for Project delivery and introducing continuous improvements to our production releases and software delivery.

Janice Palis

Office/Admin Manager

Janice has been with EFTEX since 2019. As Office/ Admin Manager, Janice ensures a well-run office. Janice also attends to key inputs for the monthly management report and board pack, timely payment of merchant rebates, surcharge fees, partner and supplier payables and issuance of client invoices for collection of EFTEX charges.

Theo Koutellos

Helpdesk Manager

Theo joined us in 2002 as a Helpdesk Operator. Since then, Theo has performed all Helpdesk roles, including Shift Supervisor, Team Leader, and Assistant Manager. In 2019, Theo was appointed Helpdesk Manager, and continues to perform this key role for us.

Some of our major milestones

2000

First live ATM transaction via direct link and acquiring relationship with Westpac.

2000 - 2020

Direct acquiring relationships established with ANZ, NAB, CBA, WBC & Suncorp for ATM transaction processing and settlement.

2006

Established direct ATM interchange link and acquiring relationship with ANZ Bank for ATM transaction processing and settlement.

2009

First major ‘external’ customer in Travelex (DCC & FX dispensing ATMs). Implemented White Labelled Allian terminal driving and transaction processing for BTI Payments India – supporting 1,000 ATMs until Reserved Bank of India required in-country processing. Commenced POS terminal driving & processing for BTI Payments in India.

2011

Established direct ATM Scheme interchange links with Visa, Mastercard and UnionPay International

2012

Implemented direct POS Scheme Interchange links with eftpos, Visa and Mastercard

2016

Direct interchange links with Amex & Cabcharge to support payment processing for 10,000 POS payment terminals (taxis).

2018

Became a member of the AusPayNet Issuers & Acquirers Community and eftpos Australia. Obtained an Exchange Settlement Account with the Reserve Bank of Australia for eftpos Settlement batch receipt. Acquired first eftpos POS and eCommerce transactions.

2020

Implemented terminal driving, transaction processing, and acquiring of c.800 Westpac Group branded off branch ATMs for Prosegur Australia.

2022

Implemented new EFTLab BP-Node POS and ePOS payments switch, in addition to our existing ACT Postiliion transaction switch.

2023

Additional Card Scheme Acquiring Memberships being implemented

2024

Approved and implementing Mastercard, Visa, and Union Pay ATM, POS and ePOS Acquiring Memberships and Discover POS and ePOS Acquiring Memberships
